๐ŸŽฏ The Goal

I can identify rows, columns, and cells, and I can navigate a spreadsheet to find specific cell addresses.

๐Ÿ“– The Walkthrough: How it Works

A spreadsheet is just a giant grid used to organize information. To use it, you need to know how the grid is labeled:

  • Columns: These run Up and Down and are labeled with Letters (A, B, C…).
  • Rows: These run Across and are labeled with Numbers (1, 2, 3…).
  • Cells: This is the “Box” where a row and column meet. We name them like a map (e.g., A1 or C10).

๐Ÿ“ฅ The Starter File

Before you begin the task, download the “Starter File” spreadsheet below.

โœ… The Checklist: Your Task

Open your downloaded file and complete these steps:

  1. Find the Hidden Words: Look at the cell addresses listed in Column A. Go to those cells and type the letters you find there into the “Answer Box.”
  2. Color the Grid: Go to cell D5 and use the Fill Tool (the paint bucket) to turn it Red. Fill the other cells as per the instructions.
  3. The Cell Address Challenge: Scroll all the way down to Row 100. In cell A100, type the name of your favorite animal.

๐Ÿ† Level Up! (Extension)

  • The Coordinates Master: Can you find the cell address that is exactly 10 columns to the right and 10 rows down from A1? Label that cell “Winner.”
  • Auto-Fit: If you type a very long sentence in a cell and it gets cut off, can you figure out how to double-click the line between the Column letters to make it wider?
