To make your work stand out, you need to use the <strong>Toolbar<\/strong>. Here are the &#8220;Essential Three&#8221; tools:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Borders:<\/strong> Use the grid icon to add solid lines around your cells. This makes it look like a proper table rather than just floating numbers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fill Color:<\/strong> Use the <strong>Paint Bucket<\/strong> to highlight headers (the top row). This helps the reader see exactly what each column represents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cell Types:<\/strong> If a number represents money, don&#8217;t just type a &#8220;\u00a3&#8221; or &#8220;$&#8221;. Use the <strong>Format as Currency<\/strong> button (usually a <code>\u00a3<\/code> or <code>$\\<\/code> symbol). This tells the computer the number is money so it can do math with it later!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udce5 The Starter File<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Download the &#8220;Messy Menu&#8221; below. It contains all the data for a cafe, but it looks terrible and is hard to read!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons alignfull is-horizontal is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-499968f5 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-align-center wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/16fhOH7DA4Y7g5pGZc_9-zRCTpi2iGhTcVBKnJZXEI2o\/copy?gid=148850312#gid=148850312\">Download Messy Menu<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 The Checklist: Your Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the &#8220;Messy Menu&#8221; and follow these steps to fix it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Header:<\/strong> Highlight cells <strong>A1 to C1<\/strong>. Make the text <strong>Bold<\/strong>, change the <strong>Fill Color<\/strong> to dark blue, and change the <strong>Text Color<\/strong> to white.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Borders:<\/strong> Highlight all the data from <strong>A1 down to C10<\/strong>. Click the <strong>Borders<\/strong> icon and select &#8220;All Borders.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Money Matters:<\/strong> Highlight the &#8220;Price&#8221; column. Click the <strong>Currency<\/strong> button so all the numbers show the <code>\u00a3<\/code> or <code>$<\/code> symbol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Alignment:<\/strong> Highlight the whole table and click <strong>Center Align<\/strong> so the text sits neatly in the middle of the boxes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfc6 Level Up! (Extension)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Merge &amp; Center:<\/strong> Can you create a title in Row 1 that stretches across all three columns? Highlight <strong>A1 to C1<\/strong> and look for the <strong>Merge Cells<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Conditional Formatting:<\/strong> Can you make any price over \u00a35.00 automatically turn <strong>Red<\/strong>?
